F-35B supersonic stealth jumpjet hovers in midair like a UFO

The F-35B supersonic stealth jet has a nifty trick the likes of which few other planes can boast of: VTOL, or Vertical Take-Off and Landing. It's not the first plane to do it, but it is the world's first supersonic jet to have the ability. At the hands of British test pilot Graham Tomlinson, it was the F-35B's first successful hover test as the aircraft remained stationary 150 feet above the runway at the Patuxent River naval base in Maryland.
