The fear of science hinders progress. Don't be scuuurd..

This is one of the reasons why I get my news from the internet. Most news on the TV is reported to just get ratings and force agendas. The best way to do that is through fear. They give you little hints like "How your bathtub will kill you.... tonight at 11". So then you tune in and find out that someone did something stupid, or there is some recall that effects .001% of the products sold. There is also constant controversy with science and religion/"morals" like stem cell research. Remember not too long ago it was illegal and sac-religious to study the dead. Look at the medical advances we have made just because we finally accepted that as a "moral" practice. It couldn't have been better said when FDR spoke the famous words "There is nothing to fear but fear itself". Instead of damning us all to hell, stem cell research may be your savior one day.
